A lot is happening right now, with vaccines, school re-openings, and LIPI. We thought we’d take a moment to reach out, let you know what we’re up to, and get feedback on what you need from us right now.
Currently: We are meeting regularly with district administration to ensure staff and student safety. We are bringing member concerns to the administration, ensuring member representation in reopening decisions, and advocating for expanded leave options in the event of illness or quarantine. We’ve also been working to protect employee hours and benefits, and encouraging clear and frequent communication from the management to employees as things change and evolve.
Workshare: Some local educators received a lump-sum and are now getting requests from unemployment to reimburse them. If this has happened please email Jared immediately: email@example.com
Safety Concerns: We would like to echo the superintendent’s sentiment that all employees should speak up if they become aware of any safety issue or violation of state, county, or district COVID guidance.
Financial Update: The ESD is projecting an unreserved ending fund balance of over 11%. This should mean good news for employees and students next year!
